3 Steps for Putting Video Into Action

You spent weeks if not months laboring over your company’s most recent video. If you were planning on just posting the video to Youtube then I hope you don’t mind if little to no one sees your video. The “If you build it and they will come” strategy isn’t ideal when working with online video. To maximize the results of your video you will need to put your video into action.

Email List

If your company has an email list of potential, present and past customers then you have a perfect method to deliver your content. By including video in your email subject line you will increase your open rate by over 50%.

When sending videos to your email list make sure it is the appropriate content for the list you’re sending it to. You shouldn’t be sending past customers and potential customers the same videos in most scenarios.

Social Media

Social media is flooded with status updates and selfies. By posting engaging content, such as a video, your company will be able to break through the clutter and stand out. Online users love video content so much that Orion21 reported that videos are shared 1200% more times than links and text combined. If your audience begins promoting your video then you just struck the marketing gold mine.

Blog Post

In the past 5 years blogging has become a necessary to do in order to run a successful business. The problem with blogs is they’re text based and readers hardly if ever read the entire article. By embedding video into your blog your readers will be able to see the person behind the curtain and build a personal connection with them. This will lead to increased engagement and reduced bounce rates.

TIP: Add a transcription of your video below it when posting on your blog. This will give the search engine more text to crawl, when performing searches.

Creating a video is only half the battle of video marketing. If you truly want to turn your videos into a lead generation machine it’s imperative you put your videos into action. These are a few ideas to get you started on how to integrate videos into your marketing plan.
